1pt Ross Smith each-way (1/2 - 2 places) @ 10/1
Smudger is a tempting pick at all events just now, but this week more so given the generous draw he has. Due to withdrawals, the highest seed in Smith’s quarter of the draw is Heta, whom is pretty scarce of any notable form at the moment. Other seeds include Michael Smith and James Wade, neither who can seem to find any sort of consistency on the big stages of late.
Ross is showing the best form of the bunch in his section of the draw - winning a Pro Tour event in incredibly dominant fashion a couple weeks ago on top of making the final of the Austrian Darts Open.
Smith just fell short in a deciding leg against eventual champion Jonny Clayton at the Dutch Darts Championship last weekend, so shouldn’t be too down on himself in the aftermath of that defeat. He’s averaged 91+ in all of his last 22 matches, showing as much consistency as pretty much anybody on tour just now.
With big names absent, this looks as good a chance as any for Smith to win his first regular Euro Tour event.

0.75pts Martin Schindler each-way (1/2 - 2 places) @ 25/1
Schindler has a bit of an aura around himself now when it comes to the Euro Tour, where you just expect him to be in the mix every couple of events. That’s massively down to the success he’s enjoyed on this tour - the little German has now won 3 of the last 18 European Tour events, so it’s safe to say 25/1 in a depleted field is outstanding value.
The Wall made the quarter finals of this last year, he’ll look to go a couple better this time round. With some vulnerable looking seeds in his quarter such as Searle and Dobey, who have had very little success any time recently on the Euro Tour, Schindler looks like the one to beat here and will be happy enough with a potential tie against fellow countryman Ricardo Pietreczko in the second round.
His form isn’t anything special over the past few weeks, but he’s proved before he can win an event from somewhat out of the blue, without any noteworthy form in the lead-up. He was showing very similar form to just now before winning the Austrian Darts Open. Schindy has become one of the most dangerous players on this tour and at 25/1 he was a no-brainer.

0.75pts Dave Chisnall each-way (1/2 - 2 places) @ 25/1
Dave could count himself a bit unfortunate last week in Rosmalen, he didn’t do a hell of a lot wrong in losing out to Ritchie Edhouse 6-5 on Saturday afternoon. Considering the severe lack of form Edhouse has shown in recent months, Chisnall would’ve thought an average just shy of the ton mark would be more than enough but it wasn’t to be.
The St. Helens man went into it having shown some signs of a possible return to form, having made the final of a Pro Tour a couple weeks ago, losing out to Ratajski in the final. But more importantly would have took some real confidence and belief from that day, having recorded 100+ averages in four consecutive matches on route to that final, dropping just six legs in total across they four matches. It would have been some good reassurance to Chizzy that he still very much has plenty in the locker, having had a bit of a torrid time in televised events in recent times.
The European Tour has very much been Chizzy’s stomping ground over the past few years - he’s had no such issues getting over the finishing line in Europe, racking up six Euro Tour titles since late 2022. He’ll look to make it a magnificent seven this weekend, as he bids to successfully defend his European Darts Open title, which he managed to win last year without his A-game. This looks a similarly weaker field so at 25/1 I had no hesitation to step into the pro-Chisnall camp for this one.
