Over 1.5 180's Xiao Chen Zong vs Chris Dobey @ 8/11
Zong has always been pretty highly rated in China but sadly he’s never really showed that potential on the Ally Pally stage - he’s played four matches in the World Championship across the last eight years and he’s yet to win a match. In fact, three of those defeats were to nil. They were all against beatable opponents too - Bernie Smith, the late Kyle Anderson, Mickey Mansell and Ricardo Pietreczko. The Pandaman has failed to average above 87 here yet, so will need to improve drastically.
It doesn’t get any easier as he faces his toughest opponent yet in Chris Dobey. I fancy Dobey to have a pretty decent World Championship, he’s been very consistent here the last few years - Hollywood made the Quarter Finals in 2023 and 2024, with a run to the Semi Finals in 2025. He’s reliable to navigate his way through the first couple of rounds and I reckon he’ll make fairly light work of Zong.
Although Zong’s record here makes for ugly reading, it’s mainly the doubles that have been his undoing, hitting 32% or less of his targets on the outer-ring in every match he’s played here. He’s still managed to score to a reasonable level, hitting two or more 180s in all four of his matches here. For that reason, I think we can rely on him to hit a couple maximums here at 8/11. He’s hitting 0.22 180s per leg rate he’s been averaging the last three months would mean he should only need nine legs to achieve two 180s.
Most 180's Niko Springer vs Joe Comito @ 1/4
Springer is definitely an exciting prospect and he did impress when lesser known on his World Championship debut last year - he lost out 3-1 to Scott Williams but averaged 99 himself.
Since then, he’s got on tour and made a real impact - Niko has already made two European Tour finals in 2025, winning one of them, his maiden PDC title. He’s tended to put in his better performances in front of a crowd, struggling more at the floor events. He’s obviously defending no ranking money having only just came on tour at the start of the year, so this is a wonderful chance for the German to climb up the rankings.
Joe Comito has tended to let himself down in televised events, particularly on the World Series. The Waterboy one just won leg across his first three World Series appearances, averaging 75 or less in all of they matches. He lost out 3-1 to Thibault Tricole on the opening night here last year with an 81 average. It’s fair to say that he seems to play his best stuff on the floor.
I’m focusing on the 180's instead - Springer is hitting three times more maximums than Comito. Springer is averaging 0.27 180's per leg the past three months, compared to 0.09 for Comito, these rates have remained almost the same through the course of the year. For that reason, it may be on the short side at 1/4 but it looks like a complete banker.
