World Grand Prix Betting Tips

  • Dave Chisnall to beat Cameron Menzies @ 8/11
  • Chris Dobey to beat Joe Cullen @ 4/9

Boosted double @ 11/8 13/8

Dave Chisnall to beat Cameron Menzies @ 8/11

'Chizzy' has to come into this event feeling pretty good about himself, with four titles to his name so far this year between the Pro and Euro Tours. His record at the World Grand Prix is also better than some would guess, reaching two finals in 2013 and 2019.He brings some relatively good form here, winning eight matches in Wigan in midweek on the Pro Tour and posting four 100+ averages.

Menzies has really cemented himself as one of the players you want to avoid coming up against on the Pro Tour now, showing some real consistency and producing a bagful of ton plus averages, albeit he still hasn’t managed to get over the line and win his first PDC title. I feel like Cammy’s main enemy is his own head sometimes and whether he believes he belongs at the top with the biggest names.

His form has dipped off slightly - he’s averaged below 97 in 12 of his last 13 matches. Prior to this, he’d averaged 97+ in 16 of his 22 matches. On a recent interview on Weekly Dartscast, Menzies revealed that he will still be doing plumbing duties for his day job on Tuesday morning and wont make the journey to Leicester until lunchtime on the same day he’s playing. This may be normal for him and unavoidable, but in my opinion this isn’t the ideal preparation for a major tournament.

It’s one thing showing promise at the floor events but it’s a bigger step taking that onto the televised stages. I’m not sure Menzies is mentally there yet and Chisnall is playing more than well enough to do a job on him if he’s not at the races, 8/11 is a good price too.

Chris Dobey to beat Joe Cullen @ 4/9

It’s been a horrible year for Cullen, other than making a couple finals on the Pro Tour and Euro Tour from completely out of the blue. 'The Rockstar' has averaged 100+ just once in his last 33 matches, nowhere near good enough for a player of his calibre. He hasn’t gone beyond the second round of any televised event this year, so it doesn’t bode too well for this tournament, where he’s gone out in the first round in four of his eight appearances.

Dobey will be hoping to transfer his Pro Tour form into this, where he’s been one of the best players this year. He’s won three Pro Tour events in 2024, reaching five finals in total, the most recent of which came last week in Wigan. He averaged 98+ in seven of his nine matches last week, so the form is tip-top.

He has a pretty solid record at the WGP, reaching the QF stage or better in three of his four previous appearances. Joe did beat Dobey at the QF stage 3-2 last year but a lot has changed in his form since then and I fancy Hollywood to reverse that result this time round ,against a player lacking confidence lately.

The Betfred traders have boosted the double from 11/8 all the way out to 13/8, which you can load directly to betslip below.
