World Darts Championship Saturday Betting Tips

  • Rhys Griffin over 2.5 180s @ 4/7
  • Luke Littler highest checkout over 120.5 @ 4/5

2 units Boosted Double @ 7/4 2/1

Rhys Griffin over 2.5 180s @ 4/7

It’s a big day for the Welshman Rhys Griffin as he graces the Ally Pally stage for the first time. He faces a slightly more experienced Karel Sedlacek, who makes his fourth World Championship appearance, navigating his way through the first round in his most recent time here in 2023, beating Raymond Smith in straight sets with a 98 average before narrowly losing 3-2 to Dirk Van Duijvenbode.

Ranked 68th in the world, Sedlacek is still looking to take that next step in his career and solidify a place in the worlds top 64, or else his tour card will remain at risk. There’s no doubting Evil Charlie has the talent required, 38th in the averages list for the year is evidence of that, but he needs to add some more consistency to his game if he’s to kick on. A semi final on the Pro Tour in August was the highlight for the Czech this year, but I feel he’s underachieving a tad.

I do think he’ll have too much for Griffin here, considering he’s over five points clear on the yearly averages and has vastly more experience on big stages. Although 2/7 is a bit on the short side for my liking.

Griffin has had a largely unsuccessful first year as a tour card holder, perhaps struggling to adapt at this level. Last 16 was his best effort on the Pro Tour, but surprisingly he managed to come through qualifiers for this and the World Series Finals. Finishing has been his Achilles heel, hitting just 34.17% of his doubles over the year. But he can score and isn’t shy of a maximum or two - he’s averaging 0.22 180s per leg for the year, meaning 13/14 legs should be enough time for him to nail 3+ 180s at 4/7. Hopefully we get four or more sets to increase the chances.

Luke Littler highest checkout over 120.5 @ 4/5

The highly anticipated first match for Luke Littler finally arrives at prime time on Saturday night. There’ll be a big TV audience tuned in for the return of The Nuke to the Ally Pally stage, where he shot himself to stardom this time last year with an incredible run to the final.

Ryan Meikle is first up for the teenager this year, having scraped through in a deciding set against Fallon Sherrock a few days ago. The Barber will have to be so much better than he was in that first round match - he only averaged 83 overall and started very slowly with a 70 average in set one. The slow pace of Meikle may be a bit of a hindrance to Littler, as it was at the European Championship when Gilding beat him first round. However he rarely lets much phase him and I don’t think it should pose too big a threat to his chances.

Littler win, handicaps etc are all very short so instead I’m going to back the youngster to nail a big checkout. He’s 4/5 to hit a checkout over 120.5 which looks pretty appealing, given the scarily good form he’s been in of late it doesn’t feel like too big an ask. At the recent Players Championship Finals, Littler pinned a 121+ checkout in five of his six matches - his highest checkouts in each of them were 124, 129, 129, 158 and 170. The majority of they matches were first to 10/11 legs so a similar length or format to this match. It’s bound to leave himself a few big outs and based on recent form he should hit one of them at some point.

We've managed to get the double boosted from 7/4 all the way out to 2/1, which you can load to betslip by clicking the banner below.
