Bahrain Masters Darts 2025 Predictions: Humphries can beat Littler

We are a fortnight or so removed from the excitement of the World Championship, where Luke Littler was crowned and moved up to number two in the world.
The best players though are already back on the stage and our darts tipster fancies the world number one to remind everybody why he's rated so highly. Check out Sean's winner tip and his Bahrain Darts Masters 2025 Predictions in his tournament preview below...

- 2u Luke Humphries @ 11/4
Humphries suffered a shock third round defeat at the World Championship to Peter Wright, having went into the tournament as a strong second favourite to win his second World title. There was a war of words between the two in the lead up to match and perhaps that added pressure to the occasion seen Luke trying a bit too hard in the end, it wasn’t a terrible performance but he was just lacking that spark he’s so often had.
That early exit is partly the reason why I’ve decided to back him this week. As Littler has been quite rightly taking all the spotlight recently, having lifted his first World title. Humphries will be eager to prove he won’t budge over easily with world number one status and will look to bounce back quickly. I think he’ll play with a point to prove and try and put a stop to the Littler momentum. As far as I know, he’s kept relatively busy with exhibition events since the Worlds and I know he’s professional enough to have kept putting the hours in on the practice board to stay sharp for this tournament.
With no disrespect intended, Cool Hand had as good as a bye in the opening round, drawing qualifier Abdulla Saeed. This should be the most straightforward of wins then will face Nathan Aspinall or Zong Xiao Chen in the QFs, assuming it’s Aspinall, you’d have to make Luke strong favourite, looking at the form of both the past year. Despite Aspinall making the QFs of the Worlds, he did have a considerably kind draw and averaged below 97 in all four of his matches. Humphries boasts a 6-3 winning record over the Asp in meetings in 2024.
He’d then likely have a tricky tie against Chris Dobey or Stephen Bunting in the semi finals, but Humphries tends to find that 100+ average game more regularly than these two, so you’d still have to fancy his chances of progressing to the final, despite Bunting particularly playing some great stuff of late.
It looks a great bounce back opportunity for Cool Hand and at very generous odds of 11/4. In my opinion, he should never be that big a price in what is only a 16-man field. Littler is a phenomenon as we all know, but recent media attention before this, as well as a tougher first round draw against Lourence Ilagan and the likes of Cross and Price in his half, 11/8 is a bit skinny in comparison. One and done with Cool Hand this week as we dip our toes back into the action in the new season.
