Sebastian Fundora vs Chordale Booker Betting Tips
Sebastian Fundora vs Chordale Booker Odds
Booker is a 7/1 underdog which I think is about right considering his record. Fundora is expected to walk this one, with 1/16 odds in his favour. A draw can be backed at 20/1.
Sebastian Fundora vs Chordale Booker Fight Preview
Ideally, one does not want to have to wait a year to capitalise on a breakout win. But the split decision victory over Tim Tsyzu that crowned Fundora as the WBC and WBO kingpin happened 12 months ago now.
There has been plenty of talk about the imposing individual in the weeks and months since. Fundora was linked with outings against WBA equivalent Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. The most concrete speculation seemed to surround a fight with unbeaten Olympian Charles Conwell. But instead, Fundora breaks his involuntary exile against Booker.
It is easy to view this as a comedown. Fights against pound-for-pound greats, big-name contenders and unbeaten prospects opened up for Fundora when he shocked Tsyzu. The fact the new champion was unable to secure those fights makes this bout with Booker feel a little like a consolation prize.
The main reason behind that is the challenger’s first-round knockout loss to Austin Williams back in 2022. The one standout name Booker has faced, ‘Ammo’ ruthlessly dismantled his foe and almost knocked our subject clean out of the ring.
It was a short, sharp shock for someone who had carved out a reputation as a hot prospect. But there are mitigating circumstances. The loss to ‘Ammo’ was up at middleweight, while Booker had made his reputation as a super welterweight. The Connecticut southpaw only weighed in at 157lb, three pounds below the middleweight limit.
Of course this does not excuse the loss, but neither should that one defeat define him. Booker has won every bout since, lining up six victories and showing some of the form that made him an incredible amateur standout.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
But the challenger’s level of competition has been far beneath that of Fundora. The champion suffered his own chastening knockout loss, in seven rounds to Brian Mendoza back in 2023. He rebounded by shocking Tsyzu, showing a different kind of mettle.
Before the Mendoza reverse, the long-limbed Fundora had meted out the first defeat of Sergio Garcia’s career and secured back-to-back wins over contenders Erickson Lubin and Carlos Ocampo. This is a fighter whose level has consistently been higher than Booker’s for a number of years.
Then there are those dimensions. 6’6 champion plays 5’9 challenger. Height and reach is not the be-all and end-all, just ask 5’10 Mendoza. But ‘La Bala’ had been mixing at world level and had a knockout win over former unified titlist Jeison Rosario on his ledger. Booker does not bring those same traits.
What he does have is power, with 16 knockouts from 21 outings. But the level of competition is not comparable to what he faces here. Fundora presents challenges both physical and technical. From what we have seen, the towering champion is better in every department.
Fundora must keep his eye on the ball and see this one through, or the much-hyped big fights dissipate. But if he holds his nerve and his distance, this should be a chance to impress.

Sebastian Fundora vs Chordale Booker Prediction
I think Fundora can stop Booker. Maybe not in the sort of spectacular rout that ‘Ammo’ Williams engineered. But I think the champion retains in decisive fashion.
I like Fundora by knockout at odds of 8/15. The big fights beckon and I don’t see anything standing in the big man’s way.
