Lindolfo Delgado vs Elvis Rodriguez Betting Tips
- Delgado to win @ 4/6
Lindolfo Delgado vs Elvis Rodriguez Odds
Delgado is the 4/6 favourite here while Rodriguez is not far behind at 11/8. Given how close it is, the draw at 14/1 isn’t a bad punt.
Lindolfo Delgado vs Elvis Rodriguez Fight Preview
This fight pits a 2016 Olympian in Delgado against a medalist at the Pan American Championships in Rodriguez. These two were distinguished amateurs who are now trying to make waves in the professional ranks at super lightweight.
They are doing a solid job of that. Both men appear in the world rankings of the WBO, IBF and WBC. Only the WBA, often a law unto themselves, does not rank them. Intriguingly there are some high spots up for grabs here. Rodriguez is ranked fifth with the IBF while Delgado holds the same distinction with the WBC. The winner of this fight is going to be in a plum position to challenge for world titles.
Delgado, 22-0 with 16 KOs, feels like he has been groomed for that sort of chance for a while. His steadily-increasing level of competition has brought him to recent wins over former WBA interim challenger Jackson Marinez, then-unbeaten Bryan Flores and quality gatekeeper Carlos Sanchez.
Rodriguez feels like a logical next step on that journey. ‘The Dominican Kid’ has lost just once, to upwardly-mobile welterweight Kenneth Sims Jr. on a narrow majority points decision. That defeat has not derailed him, with Rodriguez winning six from six since.
These wins have included a knockout of veteran former world champion Viktor Postol, a stoppage of then-undefeated 2016 Olympian Juan Pablo Romero and an up-down thriller with Jino Rodrigo.
The latter fight, in which Rodriguez hit the deck in round one, showed two things. A vulnerability, with the Dominican getting caught early. But also a resilience. The knockdown was heavy and clearly hurt Rodriguez, But he rallied, reset himself and had Rodrigo on the deck before the round was out.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Rodriguez could need those reserves of will here. He may also need the power that has seen off 13 of his 16 victims. Having that kind of pop in your locker can be a difference-maker. We may well learn how well Delgado takes a punch.
This is a fine piece of matchmaking. Two men with plenty to play for. World titles beckon for the winner. The loser might find themself deposited at the back of the queue. Let’s hope that peril motivates these men to deliver a top-drawer performance.

Lindolfo Delgado vs Elvis Rodriguez Prediction
Delgado is understandably the favourite here. We have not yet seen where his ceiling lies. Rodriguez has that loss on his record and examples of vulnerability in his recent past. But I think ‘The Dominican Kid’ will still put on a show.
What he will not do is pull this off, in my opinion. I believe Delgado gets the job done here. Rodriguez will hang in there but I see a Delgado win as the sensible option at 4/6.
