On Saturday night at the Manchester Arena, we will see former Love Island contestant Tommy Fury fight YouTuber KSI in a professional boxing bout. That is a sentence nobody expected to be writing a few years ago but things have moved on.
Ahead of our full preview that will be available to read later in the week, let’s review the latest odds for this contest with Betfred…
KSI vs Tommy Fury Odds:
*Odds correct as of 11AM, Monday 9 October, 2023
It will come as no surprise that Tommy Fury is the 1/3 favourite to win the fight. The 24-year-old owns a professional record of 9-0 and defeated another YouTube star – Jake Paul – in his last bout despite being knocked down in the eighth and final round. In terms of boxing acumen, this one shouldn’t be close.
KSI has just the one professional fight to his name according to BoxRec and that was a split decision win over another YouTube star, this time Logan Paul, four years ago.
The 30-year-old has taken to the ring in several other exhibition bouts and is undefeated going 4-0-1 in those five contests including a No Contest result against businessman and professional boxer, Joe Fournier. This will be a huge step-up in class but the 5/2 odds on him winning suggests the market isn’t so sure.
If you want to back the draw, you can do so at 12/1.
Method of Victory:
In this market, we can clearly see the money and traders are on the side of a Tommy Fury win. The local lad is just 11/10 to win by way of KO, TKO or DQ with a points victory 2/1. That price seems entirely reasonable.
If you think KSI will come good, then the KO, TKO or DQ method of victory can be backed at 6/1, with a points-decision in favour of the man who rose to prominence by uploading games of FIFA played by him in his bedroom available to bet on at odds of 8/1.
Unlike the Jake Paul fight, this one is only going six rounds rather than eight. If you think Tommy Fury wins the fight before we go to the scorecards then rounds 3 & 4 are the shortest prices in the market, both at 7/1. A first or last round stoppage can be backed at 10/1.
KSI is not heavily fancied to stop Tommy Fury early at all with the 25/1 available for any rounds between 2 and 5 being his best shot according to the odds. Rounds 1 & 6 are priced up at 33/1
Will the fight go the distance?
The odds say no – just. We have the fight stopping before the end of the sixth round at 8/11 with the fighters having to rely on the scorecards, 11/10.
