‘El Gallo’ Jake Paul takes on former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the son of the legend no less, this Saturday, June 28. The bout headlines the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with DAZN PPV televising the card.

Here is our Betfred Insights look at the offers we have got on the fight everyone is talking about.

Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Offers

  • Chavez to be knocked down was 10/11 now 11/10
  • Paul to land 200 or more punches was 3/1 now 4/1
  • Paul to win in rounds 4-6 was 6/1 now 7/1

Paul is selling his behind off for this one, telling everyone who will listen that beating Chavez will establish his boxing legitimacy. The social media gobshite said similar when he fought inactive journeymen Ryan Bourland and Andre August. Paul made similar noises before he embarrassed himself with the Mike Tyson debacle. As usual, his boasts ring hollow.

Chavez is indeed a professional boxer of a sort. His WBC middleweight title reign, which he earned by beating Sebastian Zbik before defending the belt against the likes of Andy Lee and Peter Manfredo Jr., was okay.

But a steep decline in performance meant that, by the time Saul Canelo Alvarez pitched a shutout against him in 2017, Chavez was finished as a top-level fighter. Without his famous name and Canelo being a fellow Mexican, I don’t believe the fight with Alvarez even happens. Nothing the troubled son of an icon did between losing his belt in 2012 and facing Canelo five years later truly warranted another crack at a world belt.

Which is why, via a loss to Paul victim and MMA legend Anderson Silva, and wins over professional punching bag David Zegarra and UFC relic Uriah Hall, Chavez is cashing in his chips against a man who first found fame on Vine and the Disney Channel.

Paul is in hard-sell mode for this one. ‘The Problem Child’ is chasing a world ranking. Unified cruiserweight kingpin Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez is on this card and the WBC and WBA have already reportedly clarified that they are in fact stupid enough to give Paul a ranking if he wins on Saturday. Picture that. A man whose biggest fight saw him losing to Molly Mae’s ex getting a crack at the world championship.

Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr - Price Boosts Chavez Jr To Be Knocked Down

Odds correct at time of publishing.

Betfred have got you covered if you are looking for ways to make this muppet show more exciting. We are offering a trio of Price Boosts so you can put some skin in the game.

The first is Chavez to get knocked down which is up from 10/11 to 11/10. Jake is no stranger to a knockdown. His viral KO of NBA star Nate Robinson in his second fight pretty much launched this whole endeavour. But Paul has put the likes of Silva, Tommy Fury, Nate Diaz and Mike Perry down, among others. If you think Paul can add to his growing highlight reel you might fancy this Boost.

Our next Price Boost is Jake Paul to land 200 or more punches, up from 3/1 to 4/1. The 28-year-old strayed close to this number when he tagged Diaz with 174 punches in their 10-rounder. If you fancy Paul to pick up the pace and get his shots off, this might be the Boost for you.

Finally, we have our Price Boost on Paul to win in rounds 4-6, which jumps from 6/1 to 7/1. Paul has seven knockouts in his 11 victories. Meanwhile, Chavez has been stopped twice in his six losses. The Mexican is also fighting up at cruiserweight now, a massive jump in poundage from his middleweight heyday. Is Chavez built the weather the storm against Jake, who wears his weight far more naturally? If you think ‘El Gallo’ can finish this one early, our Paul in rounds 4-6 Price Boost might be your jam.
