Ramos

World-ranked contender Jesus Ramos takes on LA-based Argentine Guido Emmanuel Schramm this Saturday, March 22. The fight takes place at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas as part of the Sebastian Fundora vs. Chordale Booker undercard. The bout will be broadcast live to subscribers of Prime Video.

Here are my Ramos vs Schramm predictions ahead of this super welterweight clash.

Jesus Ramos vs Guido Emmanuel Schramm Betting Tips

  • Ramos by knockout @ 1/3
  • Fight to go the distance - No @ 2/7

Jesus Ramos vs. Guido Emmanuel Schramm Odds

Ramos is an overwhelming 1/33 favourite, which makes sense given the oppositional downgrade. Schramm is 10/1 to pull off the big upset. A draw is priced at 25/1.

Jesus Ramos vs. Guido Emmanuel Schramm Fight Preview

Ramos was originally set to take on Kevin Salgado, who was forced to withdraw from the bout. Schramm is not as strong an opponent, which is no surprise given the last-minute nature of the change. But can Ramos adjust to the late switch?

Ramos is in a plum position with the sanctioning bodies. ‘Mono’ finds himself ranked in every world top 10, including top-five rankings with the WBC and WBA. The Ring deem him to be the ninth-best 154-pounder in the world. An impressive resume for a 24-year-old.

Last time out, Ramos fortified his position with a eighth-round stoppage of former world champion Jeison Rosario. Granted, his opponent had seen better days. But Rosario was only 29 years of age when Ramos walloped him. A solid win however you slice it.

Schramm is a bit of a step-back you could argue, but then he did sign up on short notice. The 16-3-2 campaigner is out-of-form, going three fights and 12 months without a win. Paul Kroll took him to a majority draw while Johan Gonzalez beat him on points. Vladimir Hernandez added Schramm’s name to a record that features victories over Julian Williams, Alfredo Angulo and Raul Garcia via sixth-round knockout.

Ramos is the best and most complete fighter that Schramm has faced. The challenge he faces becomes even more hellacious in light of his recent form. Schramm has gambled here, accepting a fight on short notice with an opponent who looks destined to challenge for world titles.

This sort of bravery should be applauded and one hopes that Schramm gets a further opportunity on a big card as a reward. His actions have rescued the chief support for this event and too often good-turns like that from fighters are forgotten.

Schramm will view this as a free hit. Win and he will rocket up the world rankings. Lose and people will shrug, having gotten what they expected. One could make the argument that the real pressure rests on Ramos’ shoulders.

Jesus Ramos V Guido Emmanuel Schramm - Method Of Victory Ramos by KO, TKO or DQ

Odds correct at time of publishing.

‘Mono’ must win well here to keep the title train on the track. The plan for 2025 must be to manoeuvre into a world title shot. Ramos has had his plans scuppered before, when early promise in wins over the likes of Brian Mendoza and Javier Molina was undone by a 10-round defeat to contender Erickson Lubin.

Ramos has recovered brilliantly, winning his two fights since by knockout. A third stoppage in a row might just clear the path to a shot at one of the super welterweight division’s belt-holders. But a mis-step would see a world championship opportunity evaporate, possibly forever.

Jesus Ramos vs. Guido Emmanuel Schramm Prediction

I think this fight will be nothing short of a showcase for Ramos. Schramm has lost at a far lower level than this. Couple that with his poor recent form and I can see credit for his bravery being the only thing Schramm emerges with from Saturday’s clash.

I’m going for Ramos by knockout in this one. He has 18 stoppages from 22 wins including two in his last two outings. Ramos by KO is 1/3.
