The champ is a lofty 1/4 favourite. Duarte is the underdog at 18/5 while the draw is priced at 12/1.
You can get a 6/1 price boost on a Hitchins stoppage or 9/1 for Duarte to finish the fight inside the distance.
Hitchins vs Duarte Fight Preview
Hitchins is a defensive master. The quick counters, shoulder-roll defence and evasive nous evoke past masters Floyd Mayweather, Pernell Whittaker and James Toney. The young champion has a long way to go to match those doyens of defence, but the early signs are good.
Hitchins is not solely reactive. Peep the fifth round hurting he put on former unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr last June. Eight knockouts from 20 fights indicates that Hitchins is no puncher. But try telling that to Kambosos’ swollen and cut face.
The IBF champion is 28 now and must surpass the ‘prospect’ label that has been bestowed upon him since blinking in the light of the pro game back in 2017. The Olympic silver medalist has been moved well and will be keen to steer his way into big fights later in 2026.
Fighting Duarte is the proof of concept to get Hitchins paydays against the likes of new WBO boss Shakur Stevenson, Britain’s WBC titlist Dalton Smith and the winner of this card’s tussle between IBF champ Gary Antuanne Russell and challenger Andy Hiraoka.
Duarte is your classic boxing bridesmaid. The best of the rest. His resume features laudable wins over the likes of Kenneth Sims Jr and Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz. But against tonight’s headliner, Ryan Garcia, he was stopped in eight rounds in 2023.
World champion Hitchins is not as ruthless as Garcia. While ‘KingRy’ banks on his power, Richardson revels in the hit-don’t-get-hit artistry of pugilism. Hey, if you aren’t going to be a butcher you might as well be a sculptor.
Duarte can be a thrilling watch. He persists, resists and insists behind a high guard. Pouring forward and clipping his man with short, sharp shocks. Seeing him piece up Sims or enter the trenches with Miguel Madueno has been a joy. But Hitchins is like bringing the T-1000 to the Battle of Normandy in comparison.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
The boxer meets the puncher. It was ever thus. The Ring have bagged themselves a quintessential styles match-up for their Vegas throwdown.

Hitchins vs Duarte Prediction
Duarte does everything Hitchins wants from his opponents. He is active. He blocks rather than moves his head. He throws a lot of punches. Catnip for the man who calls himself ‘Africa’.
I see Hitchins winning this with scorecards so wide you could park an aircraft carrier between his total and Duarte’s. The IBF champion to win on points is 4/9.
