Lebron

Henry Lebron takes on Christopher Diaz this Saturday, December 7 at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. DAZN will broadcast the show live, headlined by Liam Paro’s IBF super lightweight title defence against Richardson Hitchins.

Here are my Lebron vs Christopher predictions ahead of this co-main event attraction.

Lebron vs Christopher Betting Tips

  • Lebron on points @ 4/9
  • Fight to go the distance - Yes @ 2/7

This fight has all the ingredients for something special. Two world-ranked Puerto Ricans duking it out in front of their home crowd. The atmosphere should be electric for this one, perhaps even louder than the main event.

This fight was originally set to take place in the summer but promises to be worth the wait. This bout represents a true stepping stone for each man. A chance to line up an assault on the super featherweight world titles in 2025.

The WBO version will be on the line elsewhere on Saturday night, as Emanuel Navarrete defends it against old foe Oscar Valdez in Arizona. Northern Ireland’s Anthony Cacace wears the IBF crown. O’Shaquie Foster recently won back his WBC strap from Robson Conceicao. Lamont Roach wears the WBA iteration.

In short, Saturday’s victor has options. Lebron is ranked by the IBF while both men are rated by the WBA. This fight will go a long way towards opening up future avenues for the victor. Meanwhile, the loser can probably forget about a world title shot in the near future.

Diaz has experience in championship fights. The 30-year-old has challenged for world titles on two occasions, falling short both times. He was knocked down and outpointed by Masuyuki Ito for the WBO belt back in 2018. Diaz was stopped in the 12th round against the aforementioned Navarrete for the WBO featherweight belt in 2021.

A loss in his next bout to Isaac Dogboe led to a period of inactivity. Diaz fought just once in 2022 before resurfacing this year. His comeback has gone well thus far, stopping journeyman Deivi Julio and gatekeeper Headley Scott. But now Diaz goes in with a fighter of genuine world-class credentials.

Lebron looks the part. A majority decision verdict over William Foster III last time out was close in its nature, but the quality of opponent defeated shows Lebron’s level. Foster was a quality foe, evidenced by his 16-0 ledger coming in. He lodged a mid-fight rally to keep the scorecards tight, but Lebron protected what was his to come out on top.

Now he looks to do the same against a seasoned campaigner at world level. This is a high-quality match-up amplified by the Puerto Rican setting. A war for national supremacy with one eye on the world scene. This one could steal the show away from the intriguing Paro-Hitchins headliner.

Lebron vs Diaz Prediction

This fight feels like it is coming at the right time for Lebron. He is the toughest foe Diaz has fought since his lay-off. While the underdog is only 30 years of age, he has been competing in hard, high-level fights for a long time. Age is just a number in boxing, with miles on the clock being measured in other ways.

Diaz is the fresher man and his rise feels somewhat inevitable. I reckon we’ll see ‘Moncho’ in a world title fight next year. That road starts here. Lebron on points at 4/9 for me.
