Elijah Garcia vs Terrell Gausha Predictions: A must-win for both for different reasons

Super middleweight young buck Elijah Garcia takes on Terrell Gausha this Saturday, March 22. The bout takes place at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas as part of the Sebastian Fundora vs Chordale Booker undercard. Prime Video will screen the fight live on their platform, included with a subscription. This is a departure from the usual boxing events on the platform, which incur an extra pay-per-view fee.
Here are my Garcia vs Gausha predictions ahead of this 168lb contest.
Elijah Garcia vs Terrell Gausha Betting Tips
Elijah Garcia vs Terrell Gausha Odds
Garcia is 2/13 to pick up the biggest win of his young career. Gausha’s wealth of world class experience means that odds of 21/5 are not something he is accustomed to. If you can’t split them, the draw is 16/1.
Elijah Garcia vs Terrell Gausha Fight Preview
Garcia has been one of the most exciting prospects PBC has had to offer. Now 21, the Glendale southpaw has been thrilling fans since his teens. But the wheels came off last time out when the youngster was outpointed by the experienced Kyrone Davis.
Davis had fought world class names previously. He had taken two-time world champion Anthony Dirrell to a split draw, as well as mixing it with the fearsome David Benavidez. An incredibly tough opponent to match up with an opponent who was 20 at the time.
An early harbinger of doom was the fact that Garcia came in three pounds overweight for the contest. The prospect had reportedly been ill and the whole affair started to feel cursed. Garcia did his best but a late rally was not enough against a veteran opponent who had competed with meaner, more intimidating men.
Garcia has been out of the ring since that June 2024 defeat. That makes sense considering how rapid his rise has been. Some time off to reset is completely understandable. Now the Arizona boxer takes on another tricky veteran in his return.
Gausha has challenged for world titles on two occasions. Of his four losses, three came against reigning or future world champions while the fourth arrived against a world title challenger. Not one of WBA kingpin Erislandy Lara, WBC boss Carlos Adames, ex-super welterweight boss Tim Tsyzu or WBC title challenger Erickson Lubin could knock him out.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Gausha also has a draw with decorated former titlist Austin Trout on his record. ‘Terrible’ Terrell has made his bones as someone who tests the best and beats everyone else.
Full credit to Garcia, this is an incredibly tough fight to come back to. Nobody would have judged the 21-year-old for taking a soft-touch after the Davis loss. Instead, he fights a somewhat super-charged version of his conqueror. Both Davis and Gausha are gatekeepers who have given world class fighters a tough time.
Is Garcia set to become one of those elite fighters? This will be an important litmus test for that theory. I make Gausha a better opponent than Davis was. This is a step-up off the back of a defeat. A huge challenge for the 21-year-old.
These sink-or-swim outings can be exhilarating. Back-to-back losses will probably signal the end of Garcia as a future star. A victory could propel Gausha to one last tilt at a big name at the age of 37. Equally, he could find himself on the boxing scrapheap with a defeat. Meanwhile, a win for Garcia essentially erases the Davis loss. A lot at play in this one. See you at the crossroads.

Elijah Garcia vs Terrell Gausha Prediction
Garcia is always an entertaining watch. He sometimes leaves his defence at home, but he comes to fight. In Gausha he finds an opponent who knows all the tricks, but is likely on the slide at this stage.
I think Garcia will have learned from his loss and will come to impress here. It might not be easy in the early going, but once he finds that rhythm I think he’ll win the day. I’m plumping for Garcia on points at 4/5.
