Chris Eubank Jr vs Kamil Szeremeta Predictions: Now is the time for ‘Next Gen’

The controversial firebrand Chris Eubank Jr. returns this Saturday, October 12, against Kamil Szeremeta. The bout takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol. The full card will be broadcast on both DAZN PPV and TNT Sports Box Office.
Here are my Eubank Jr. vs Szeremeta predictions ahead of this middleweight attraction.
Eubank has visited the last chance saloon so often that they pour his drink before his arse even hits the barstool. The sons of great champions often have to work twice as hard for half the recognition and it feels like that inequality has been thrust upon the son of ‘Simply The Best’.
Eubank is 33-3 with his three defeats all coming against former world champions. The latest, a January 2023 knockout at the hands of Liam Smith, was avenged eight months later. George Groves and Billy Joe Saunders are the only other two men to defeat him.
Meanwhile, Eubank has racked up wins over the likes of Dmitry Chudinov, James DeGale, Matt Korobov, Arthur Abraham and Liam Williams. The 35-year-old has proved he can hang at world level. The only thing he doesn’t have is a world title to prove it, unless you count the WBA interim or IBO versions.
By any measure, Eubank is a very good fighter. It is somewhat unfortunate for his legacy that his father was one of the greatest British boxers ever. Without the shadow of the Eubank patriarch, Junior would perhaps get more credit.
Eubank is looking to write what may be the closing chapter of his story now. ‘Next Gen’ has signed with Boxxer and is reigniting talk of a possible fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. But to secure one of those, Eubank will have to impress against Szeremeta.
The Polish boxer is an intelligent choice of opposition from Boxxer. Szeremeta has faced the very best, with his only two career losses coming to Gennady Golovkin and Jaime Munguia. But at his age and with a career of wars behind him, the 34-year-old does look ripe for the picking.
Two of Szeremeta’s last six fights have ended in a draw. The boxers that took the veteran to a stalemate were Nizar Trimech and Abel Mina, an ordinary pair who Szeremeta would have once dispatched with ease.
Szeremeta does have wins over former world champion Kassim Ouma, ex-European boss Rafal Jackiewicz and the once-decent Patrick Mendy. But these are yesterday’s men and his CV is short on the scalps of anyone relevant in 2024. Perhaps that is an indication that Szeremeta himself might not be particularly relevant any more. Curiously, Eubank is a year older than his foe, yet feels far fresher.
But he looks good on paper. 25-2-2 with a world title fight in his back-pocket, this is the sort of fight you use to build a record. The counter-argument would be that Eubank is not at the stage of needing to build his record. Why fight a man who once boxed for world titles when he himself has challenged for such belts?
But Eubank has been out of the ring for over a year. While everyone would love for him to jump straight in with a big name, it is probably sensible to take on a lighter challenge. Sensible does not always sell tickets, but featuring on the undercard of a massive attraction like Beterbiev-Bivol, ‘Next Gen’ doesn’t have to carry that burden. This fight exists primarily as a chance to glimpse what Eubank has left in a relatively low-pressure contest.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Chris Eubank Jr. vs Kamil Szeremeta Fight Odds
Eubank is a 1/33 favourite here, which is hardly surprising. The Pole is 10/1 to surprise us while a draw is 25/1.

Chris Eubank Jr. vs Kamil Szeremeta Prediction
Having been out of the ring for a while, I expect Eubank to start slow here. Szeremeta has been knocked out twice but Golovkin and Munguia are punchers by trade. Eubank is a little more cerebral, with shots that carry more pop than thud.
I think ‘Next Gen’ will win and win convincingly, but I do believe Szeremeta will still be there at the end. I am going for a Eubank decision at 15/8.
