Caroline Dubois vs Bo Mi Re Shin Predictions: ‘Sweet Caroline’ brings the sweet science

Caroline Dubois makes the second defence of her WBC lightweight this Friday, March 7 against Bo Me Re Shin. The fight is chief support for Natasha Jonas vs Lauren Price at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Sky Sports will be broadcasting the event live.
Here are my Dubois vs Shin predictions ahead of this world title bout.
Caroline Dubois vs Bo Mi Re Shin Odds
Dubois is the big favourite at a whopping 1/50/. Shin is 14/1 to find a way while the draw is marketed at 25/1.
Caroline Dubois vs Bo Mi Re Shin Fight Preview
Dubois is coming off a bit of a false start to her title reign. Last time out, her dominant display against Jessica Camara ended as a technical draw when the challenger was cut from a headbutt. Camara had already been down in the first round and was getting a chasing from Dubois. More than a few observers felt the Canadian had perhaps taken an easy way out.
Dubois technically won the title outside the ring, too. ‘Sweet Caroline’ claimed the WBC interim strap with a wide points win over Maira Moneo. That belt was then upgraded to the full whack when Katie Taylor vacated the main WBC belt.
Therefore, through no fault of her own, Dubois is yet to win a genuine world title fight. An odd position to be in for your second title defence. After coming within a win of an Olympic medal at Tokyo 2020, the Londoner could be forgiven for taking these near-misses personally.
Certainly, there has been a noticeable shift in her outlook. Once known for a glowing smile and her happy-to-be-here demeanour, Dubois has taken on the aura of a dominant and confident champion. You need that armour in top level boxing and it is heartening to see the switch. When the bright lights are on, Dubois is all business.
She will need to be on the night. Dubois is a heavy favourite, as she will be against most outside of the elite names like Taylor and Serrano. But Shin has experience in troubling top fighters. She took the legendary Delfine Persoon close to the wire, losing a split decision. Shin also holds a win over world title challenger Ana Maria Lozano,
Shin is 18-2-3, suggesting she is there to be got at. Dubois has little to fear, but equally this is not a complete walkover. Very few fights are once world titles are on the line. Shin will know this is her best chance to write her name into the history books. After what the Korean did against Persoon, in a complete war that many felt she had won, Dubois would do well to exercise some professional caution.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
I think Dubois will do exactly that. While her maiden world title victory has not yet arrived, ‘Sweet Caroline’ already carries herself like a champion. Those who were present for that curtailed Camara fight can attest to her lethal power and killer instinct. This is a fighter with a lofty ceiling.
Nights like the one ahead of Jonas and Price are ultimately what Dubois craves. She will walk into the Royal Albert Hall fully intending to headline the building next time she visits. Perhaps, in Price particularly given their respective ages, Dubois sees a future rival. That is some prospect.
But first, Dubois must take care of Shin. I think she can. Good times never seemed so good.

Caroline Dubois vs Bo Mi Re Shin Prediction
A big stage calls for a big performance. Dubois has stopped five of her 11 opponents and had a further three of them down on the canvas. I don’t think Shin stands up to that.
After her fast start last time out, I’m backing Dubois to pick up where she left off. I think she flies out of the traps here and punishes Shin. I’m going for a Dubois stoppage in rounds 1-3 at 10/1. Big performance incoming from ‘Sweet Caroline’.
