7-0 prospect Cameron Vuong takes on Jordan Flynn with the vacant WBO European lightweight championship on the line. The bout takes place at Planet Ice in Altrincham on the undercard of Olympian Pat Brown’s professional debut. William Crolla also fights on the Matchroom NextGen event which will be broadcast live on DAZN.

Here are my Vuong vs Flynn predictions ahead of this tasty domestic tussle.

Cameron Vuong vs Jordan Flynn Betting Tips

  • Vuong to win @ 1/9
  • Vuong on points @ 8/13
  • Fight to go the distance - Yes @ 2/5

Cameron Vuong vs Jordan Flynn Odds

Vuong is the favourite at 1/8. Flynn is 5/1, a solid punt given his record and Vuong’s struggles last time out. A draw is priced at 18/1.

Cameron Vuong vs Jordan Flynn Fight Preview

Vuong goes from Gwynne to Flynn, having outpointed Gavin Gwynne in his last outing. Most observers felt the youngster was lucky to get the unanimous nod in that one. The prevailing view was that former European champion Gwynne had done enough to outscore Vuong.

The fight was certainly close enough for there to be rampant talk of a rematch. That fight is not completely off Vuong’s horizon, but he has perhaps wisely taken a different challenge for his next outing. Flynn is a fine fighter, but he is not at the level of former British, Commonwealth and European king Gwynne.

This is only Vuong’s eighth outing, though. It is perhaps an indication of his promise that many felt he should have done better against Gwynne. This is, after all, a 22-year-old prospect who is still developing.

Flynn is a fine challenge for him at this stage of his career. The Gwynne test will have taught Vuong an awful lot. Now he looks to put it into practice against an opponent who is 11-0-1 and has had some tough fights to get there.

Cameron Vuong vs Jordan Flynn - Method Of Victory Vuong on Points

Odds correct at time of publishing.

Flynn is best known for a brace of bouts with Birmingham hard-man Kane Baker. Two spirited scraps ended with one win for Flynn and a draw in the rematch. That draw came about due to a last-round points deduction for Flynn, who maintains he was robbed of victory.

Flynn has won a pair of six-rounders since to net this opportunity at the WBO’s version of European honours. The bout will be contested over 10 rounds, a distance that Flynn has been once while it is Vuong’s third bout of this length.

This fight has been a long time coming. The lightweights have seen two scheduled dates against each other come and go, the latest in June 2024. The interim period has seen their distaste for each other grow. This fight has plenty of sting in the tail.

Cameron Vuong vs Jordan Flynn Prediction

I think this is a potential show-stealer. Both men have loads to prove and a stage to prove it on. I think Vuong looks the better fighter of the pair. That Gwynne win, whatever you think of the result, will have given Vuong plenty to work on.

If Vuong has learned those lessons then he will get this job done. I think he will have to go the full distance but will emerge with a decision at 4/6.
