Baumgardner vs Beaudoin Odds

The champ Baumgardner is 1/14 to get the 17th win of her career on Friday night. Beaudoin is 9/1 to spoil the party while the draw is priced at 18/1.

Baumgardner vs Beaudoin Fight Preview

Baumgardner is part of main eventer Jake Paul’s female-heavy MVP boxing stable. Future Hall of Famer Amanda Serrano, Brit icons Chantelle Cameron and Ellie Scotney and two-sport legend Holly Holm are just some of the names on the roster. Say what you want about Jake’s grasp of in-ring boxing, outside the squared circle he does some smart business.

This fight is particularly noteworthy as Baumgardner and Beaudoin will compete over 12, three-minute rounds. This is the same championship distance as male boxers and something that fellow MVP fighter Serrano has campaigned heavily for.

Baumgardner has put her money where her mouth is in her bid for equality. ‘The Bomb’ had ruled as undisputed super featherweight champion since February 2023. But the champion was forced to vacate her WBC crown to make this 12x3s happen. A disappointing and regressive step from an organisation that should be uplifting women’s boxing, not stifling it.

But we all know who the champion is at 130lbs and she defends the belts that still matter here. Beaudoin is making a huge step-up here in both class and distance. The French-Canadian has only fought in one 10-rounder and that fight ended in round six.

That victory was an impressive stoppage of Elhem Mekhaled, the former WBC interim and European champion who pushed Chantelle Cameron hard in a majority decision defeat last year. Beaudoin is the only fighter to stop Mekhaled, a considerable feather in her cap.

Baumgardner is a different proposition altogether, though. A world-level concern ever since she rocked up to Terri Harper’s Yorkshire backyard back in 2021. Baumgardner made sure everyone remembered her name on that Sheffield evening, annexing the Denaby Main lass’ WBC title in four shocking rounds.

The only blemish on Baumgardner’s record came to Christina Linartadou in her seventh pro outing. ‘The Bomb’ avenged that points defeat in 2023, winning a 10-round decision over her conqueror to retain her bevy of world titles.

That fight did bring controversy, as Baumgardner tested positive for the banned substances mesterolone and methenolone acetate metabolites in her pre-fight “A” sample taken on July 12 2023. But Baumgardner’s samples given immediately after the fight on July 15 and another provided the following day both came back negative.

The WBC found Baumgardner “not guilty of intentional ingestion or consumption of a banned substance for performance enhancement purposes” and the Association of Boxing Commissions lifted her temporary suspension as a result.

Baumgardner’s resume also boasts wins over Edith Soledad Matthysse and, most impressively, Mikaela Mayer. She has held an iron grip on this division since conquering Harper away from home in the UK. Now Baumgardner gets to show out for a mammoth Netflix audience ready-made for her explosive talents.

Baumgardner vs Beaudoin Prediction

Baumgardner only has seven knockouts from her 16 wins, but they all came in shorter fights with two minute rounds. I just don’t think Beaudoin has the engine for this one, having never gone the full women’s championship distance, never mind this switch to the classic male format.

I reckon Baumgardner starts patiently and wears her girl down to win by stoppage. Baumgardner to win by KO is 23/10.
