The third time is the charm as Anthony Yarde and Lyndon Arthur do battle for the third time this Saturday, April 26. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the palatial setting for this light heavyweight three-peat. Chris Eubank Jr’s unavoidable headliner with Conor Benn tops the bill with DAZN PPV and Sky Sports Box Office screening live.

Here are my Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur predictions ahead of the score-settler.

Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur Betting Tips

  • Yarde by knockout @ 4/9
  • Yarde in rounds 10-12 @ 6/1

Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur Odds

Yarde is the clear favourite for this fight, priced at 1/8 to win on the night. Arthur has the odds stacked against him at 5/1, while a draw is 16/1. The fight to end between round 10-12 is 6/1, while you can get 2/1 on it to be settled by the judges' scorecards.

Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur Fight Preview

Neither boxer thought they would end up back here. After Arthur took a tight, but entirely fair, decision in their first meeting, Yarde needed just four rounds to set the record straight in the rematch. But as Arthur’s failure to capitalise on his win in the first fight brought him to the table in the second, Yarde’s inability to ascend sees him back for the rubber match.

Yarde endured some brutal struggles heading into their December 2020 bout, losing family members to the COVID-19 pandemic that still gripped the nation. To his credit, the seasoned ‘Beast from the East’ has never used his personal losses to denigrate Arthur’s victory over him.

Instead, Yarde used them as motivation for the rematch. With Arthur only managing a stoppage of the middling Davide Faraci in the interim, the light heavies met a year after their first fight for another go.

Yarde was in destructive form, taking out his tormentor in four one-sided rounds. ‘The Beast’ was back. Another crack at the light heavyweight championship appeared over the horizon. Yarde put the then-mighty Sergey Kovalev on the verge of defeat in their raging 2019 battle over the WBO title, before succumbing in the 11th. After a routine win over Stefani Koykov, he looked to put it right.

Artur Beterbiev was the considerable task Yarde faced as he chased the WBC, IBF and that pesky WBO light heavyweight title. Once again, the Londoner put forth an incredible effort against a seemingly-insurmountable opponent. But, as with Kovalev, the challenge of a power-punching Russian world champion proved too much. Yarde was stopped in the eighth round of a credible challenge.

Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur - Method Of Victory Anthony Yarde KO, TKO or DQ

Odds correct at time of publishing.

A run of four wins after the Yarde defeat handed Arthur his own shot at the big one. WBA champ Dmitry Bivol would be the opponent in boxing’s new hotbed of Saudi Arabia in December 2023. Arthur stood up to some tremendous shots as Bivol emptied the arsenal for a wide points victory.

Both fighters have wins in the bag since their world title disappointments. Arthur won a controversial decision over Liam Cameron, before the Yorkshireman went onto a captivating two-fight series with Ben Whittaker. Yarde has racked up three wins over low-key opposition.

The truth is these two need this fight. A win will reignite the career of the victor. Both men are 33 years old and if they are to realise their dream of getting another world title shot, it has to come quick. This fight could be the thing that catapults either Yarde or Arthur back into the championship ring.

Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur Prediction

I think the second fight was the truest reflection of the abilities of these men. The first saw Yarde underwhelm and fight beneath himself. That is not to take away from Arthur’s win, but the second fight showed the gap between these two.

I don’t think it will end as quickly this time. But I do trust that Yarde will gain the much-needed victory. I like him to do it a bit later this time. I’ll opt for Yarde in rounds 10-12 at 6/1.
