Abraham Nova vs Humberto Galindo Predictions: Is Abraham Nova still ‘Super’?

Perennial contender Abraham Nova looks to get back into the win column against Humberto Galindo this Saturday, November 2. The super featherweight fight takes place on the undercard of one of Nova’s old foes, as O’Shaquie Foster challenges WBC champion Robson Conceicao. Sky Sports Main Event will broadcast the event live.
Here are my Nova vs Galindo predictions ahead of this fine undercard scrap.
Nova vs Galindo Betting Tips
- Nova by knockout @ 8/11
You know what you are getting with Nova. Lauded and doomed by his best-of-the-rest status, he feels confined to the status of worthy challenger. Two fights ago, he pushed then-WBC super featherweight champion Foster mightily close in a split decision loss.
Never one to shirk a tricky assignment, Nova succumbed to unbeaten rising star Andres Cortes last time out, losing via unanimous decision. At the age of 30, ‘El Super’ is not necessarily finished at the top level. Nova is always competitive in these big fights and remains world-ranked. A string of victories could put him back across the ring from a world champion.
Galindo starts this fight as the clear underdog. It is a position he has grown accustomed to. The Tijuana-based fighter is 14-3-2, with some recognisable opponents. Highly-ranked contender Raymond Muratalla, who fights on the same card, took him out in nine rounds in March 2023. Galindo also has a loss to Artem Harutyunyan, who challenged WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson back in July.
Galindo gets beaten by the best and is solid against the rest. On paper this is a perfect fight for Nova to try and get back into the win column. Having fought Foster and Cortes back-to-back, the blonde-bearded boxer deserves an easier night of work.
Of course, complacency is a risk. Nova has been on the other side of that equation before, when favourites have taken his underdog status for granted. It is in such fights that the Puerto Rican puncher has built his reputation. But this time, he is the star name taking on an unheralded opponent.
Can Galindo pull this one out of the bag? It is a tough ask. He is without a win in three, having drawn with Oscar Bravo last time out. A first-round TKO of the ordinary Darvin Galeano was his last win and that came three years ago. Galindo can punch to a certain degree, having won 11 of his 14 victorious outings inside the distance. But Nova is far better than any of the men Galindo has beaten, never mind stopped.
This fight looks as straightforward as they come for me. Nova is a hard worker and I don’t think he’ll neglect his duties enough to let Galindo into this fight. This smacks of a tune-up as Nova keeps himself ticking over, awaiting better things.
Odds correct at time of publishing.

This is Nova’s night and I expect him to impress. A decision won’t be enough to propel ‘El Super’ back to where he wants to be. I think Nova will go for the stoppage and, what’s more, I believe he will get it. I’m backing Nova by stoppage at 8/11.
