Thursday 23rd July 2026, 12:50

We were treated to an entertaining Grand Prix in Spa as Kimi Antonelli got back on top in Belgium. The Mercedes out-paced Chares Leclerc’s Ferrari to take the race win, and with teammate George Russell crashing out, the teenager extended his championship lead.

Next up we head to Budapest, and below you can find my Hungarian Grand Prix 2026 Predictions.

Hungarian Grand Prix 2026 Odds

Antonelli is the 7/5 favourite to take the race win, ahead of Lewis Hamilton at 7/2 and Charles Leclerc at 15/4. George Russell is 11/2 while Max Verstappen is 8/1.

Mercedes to win the race @ 5/6

I’ve been massively impressed by Ferrari in recent weeks but Antonelli looked imperious at Spa and his raw pace took him past Leclerc, even though the Prancing Horse driver had fresher tyres. I don’t know what to make of Russell right now, as his collision with Hamilton saw him crash out of the race, but I do think he is being significantly overpriced in terms of a race win.

He came second at Silverstone and won the Austrian Grand Prix, so first, second and a DNF in his last three races are not quite as bad as some would have you believe. The pace is obviously still there for both Mercedes drivers and I would be tempted to place a small stake on Russell at the big-value price of 11/2.

However, the sensible opening pick in Hungary looks to be to back Mercedes to win this race. Russell now trails Hamilton by five points in the standings and will want to get back above his former teammate, although it already looks as though the Constructors Championship will be heading to Mercedes.

F1 Odds

Isack Hadjar top-six finish @ 6/4

We had one winner last week by backing Isack Hadjar to land a top-six finish, and with one of his best performances of the season he duly delivered once again. I’m not going to stray away from backing the Red Bull man from another decent finish.

Every week he appears to improve and I haven’t been this impressed by a Verstappen teammate since Sergio Perez was at the wheel. Hadjar is still only 21 but has now recorded six consecutive top-six finishes, so you can see why I continue to go back to this selection.
