Hull FC are without their top tryscorer from last season, Lewis Martin, through concussion protocols, while forward Jed Cartwright has left the club to join St Helens. A third change sees Callum Kemp drop out.

Davy Litten is clear to return after failing a Head Injury Assessment at Magic Weekend, with youngsters Will Hutchinson and Ben Johnson the other men recalled.

A lengthy Black and Whites injury list still includes the likes of Will Pryce, John Asiata, Sam Lisone and Ligi Sao.

Leigh have lost Bailey Hodgson, who has an elbow infection, while Robbie Mulhern and Aaron Pene miss out again. It was confirmed this week that Mulhern will leave the club at the end of the season to join Castleford.

Nathan Wilde and Will Brough have been recalled from loan spells in what is only a 20-man squad. You would say that both of these sides are a little under-strength this week.

Both sides may have injuries but only one of these teams has form.

I really thought Hull could snap out of it last week and backed them for a narrow win at promoted York at 21/10. That looked a really good shout as the Black and Whites held a 16-8 half-time lead, before an awful fall-off saw them concede 12 without reply to lose 20-16.

When you have so many injuries and now absolutely nothing to play for, it is tough to find motivation in a sport as brutal as this. So it seems unthinkable - to me at least - that we will see a home win here.

I always felt Leigh would start picking their way through the backmarkers from their lowly league position once they had fit bodies back, and that is exactly what we are seeing now from the likes of David Armstrong, Umyla Hanley and Edwin Ipape.

I have Leigh to win on the road here and cover a handicap that sits at 10 points.

Leigh won 42-6 earlier this season. And while I don't expect that, it is unavoidable how impotent the home team can look without Martin in it.
