Eels vs sea eagles

They might not be in the devastating form of April and early May, but the Manly Sea Eagles remain huge favourites for two more NRL Premiership points on Sunday when they head to CommBank Stadium to face the Parramatta Eels (2pm local, 5am BST, Sky Sports Action).

Despite losing two of their last four, Kieran Foran’s side have still won nine of 12 since the Kiwi former half-back succeeded Anthony Seibold as coach at Brookvale. Here are my Eels vs Sea Eagles predictions, complete with Betfred’s match odds and the latest team news.

Eels vs Sea Eagles Betting Tips

  • Sea Eagles To Win Both Halves @ 6/4
  • Reuben Garrick Anytime Tryscorer @ 5/4

Eels vs Sea Eagles Odds

Is this Manly’s to lose? You bet your bottom dollar it is. They’re 4/11 for the victory inside regulation time, implying a 73.3% probability.

The Eels are 23/10 for the upset win, with the draw out at 18/1.

The Sea Eagles give up 10 points on the standard three-way handicap.

Team News

Mitchell Moses’ rep duty with the Blues this coming Wednesday opens up a chance for Jonah Pezet in the Eels’ halves.

Pezet hasn’t played first grade since April, but his return is the major alteration to Jason Ryles’ selection.

Elsewhere, it’s a shuffling of the deck. Tallyn Da Silva and Luca Moretti come in for starts in the front row, with Harrison Edwards and Sam Tuivaiti moving down to the bench in the corresponding switches.

Rugby League Odds

There’s a few changes for Foran’s troops, with the loss of Luke Brooks for the rest of 2026 to ACL surgery the most obvious blow.

Tolu Koula and Haumole Olakau’atu are both on Blues duty, but Reuben Garrick and Kobe Hetherington are back after head knocks and Clayton Faulalo has overcome a hamstring strain.

Josh Feledy makes way in the centres but is among the interchange options, while Corey Waddell takes Olakau’atu’s shirt in the second row.

Simone Laiafi drops to the bench to allow for Hetherington’s return, while Joey Walsh gets the nod in the halves to replace the stricken Brooks.

Sea Eagles To Win Both Halves @ 6/4

It’s only the need for several alterations that has me wondering about Manly, but even then I just don’t see them not taking this one.

They beat the Eels 33-18 earlier in the campaign when Foran’s ‘new-coach bounce’ was at its height. But last week’s 26-point win over the recovering Storm showed that the Sea Eagles are still a real contender, even if they’re not scoring 30-plus per match as they seemed to be through the spring.

They should show their class from the off here, with Walsh a more-than-ample replacement for Brooks at five-eighth. So on the search for value I like the look of this 6/4 about them going in at the break ahead and pushing home the advantage in the second stanza.

Reuben Garrick Anytime Tryscorer @ 5/4

Lehi Hopoate is into double figures for tries with 12 in 14 appearances, but the real beauty of this Manly resurgence this season has been the strike from all angles.

And I’m big on Garrick, who was one of the scorers when they saw off Parra at Brookie back in April.

He also scored in the narrow loss to the Bulldogs two weeks ago before he was forced to sit out last week’s clash with the Storm.

With six tries in 14 games, he comes with a bigger price than we’ll get about the likes of Hopoate or Jason Saab. But I believe him to be no less likely to get the Eels squirming.
