Although Littler is the obvious favourite for the title at 5/6, I think you can easily make a claim for all four players which makes for a fascinating night of darts ahead at the O2 Arena in London this Thursday night. Clayton has made it 4/4 in terms of making Finals Night, eyeing up his second Premier League title, an incredibly good record for someone who’s generally priced up as an outsider every year he plays in it. Humphries looks to go back-to-back, having won the 2025 edition. Littler also looks for his second Premier League title, having won it on debut in 2024. Price is the only one featuring who’s yet to win this previously, he makes his third appearance in Finals Night in his eighth Premier League campaign.

My focus is on the opening semi-final between Littler and Price. If it’s anything like their recent battles in major tournaments then it’s got the potential to be a classic - Price will have been bitterly disappointed with some of the defeats he’s suffered at the hands of Littler in recent times, losing from winning positions in some big matches. Losing from two sets up in a best of 5 sets match at the World Grand Prix and losing from 9-5 up in the semis of the World Series Finals are a few examples. Littler has now won 16 of his last 17 meetings against Price and it’d be naive to assume that doesn’t play on the Welshman’s mind.

Littler looks a strong favourite in this one given the recent record, but looks a tad short at 4/11 and with a lot of narrow victories over Gezzy, the handicaps don’t really interest me. As I often do over the longer formats, I’m going to concentrate on the checkouts where Price is concerned - the clutch ton plus checkouts are definitely a strength for The Iceman, he’s hit a 111+ checkout in 12 of his last 21 matches, all of these were over a shorter legs format. Over a longer format, he’s hit a 111+ checkout in 13 of his last 17 matches. Of course playing against Littler may limit the amount of chances he’s afforded at bigger checkouts, but Gezzy has hit a 115+ checkout in three of his four matches against The Nuke over a longer distance.

At a boosted price of 10/11, this reliable selection looks to be the pick of the bunch in a very competitive looking semi-final line-up.
