Catalans vs leigh

Leigh Leopards head to France this weekend fresh from winning back-to-back Betfred Super League games for the first time this season, and take on a Catalans Dragons side licking their wounds from a 46-4 defeat at Leeds (19:00 local, 18:00 BST, Sky Sports+).

The Dragons have been blowing hot and cold this season, while Leigh are still waiting to properly spark into life so a win in Perpignan would be just the tonic. My Catalans Dragons vs Leigh Leopards predictions, the latest match odds from Betfred and full team news all follow below.

Team News

A huge boost for Leigh last week saw star full-back David Armstrong named in a squad for the first time this season, but as predicted the Australian was not risked in the win over Huddersfield.

Three other key men are back in the mix too. Dream Team centre Umyla Hanley is having a wretched run with injuries but is back from his latest shoulder issue, while Tesi Niu and Keenan Brand are also included in a much stronger-looking Leopards squad.

Robbie Mulhern has been managing an injury but he is also included again as Leigh start to look more like the star-studded squad we are used to seeing.

Catalans interim boss Ryan Sheridan makes a couple of changes this week with second row Franck Maria in line for a first appearance of the season. Clement Martin is the other man to return as Sheridan makes two changes to his 21-man squad. The ones to drop out after last week's mauling at Headingley are injured captain Ben Garcia and Lenny Marc.

Rugby League Odds

Catalans +2.5 & Charlie Staines To Score A Try @ 2/1

This feels like the most tricky game to call of the weekend, with Leigh slowly finding form with wins over York and Huddersfield, and the Dragons looking either really good or really bad. If they produce the former, then this could be a cracker.

Its seventh versus ninth which underlines their respective toils thus far in 2026, but there are signs that Leigh are starting to click as they get bodies back. This, though, remains one of the toughest away days in the diary.

Both of our selections landed last week, with Leigh easing past the handicap against the Giants for whom the in-form Jacob Gagai justified our backing with a 7/4 anytime try.

This week the handicap barely exists - Leigh getting a four-point start with Betfred. It is that tough to call. Much will depend on how many of Leigh's returning stars actually play. Hanley has already had one false start when his return in the Challenge Cup loss at Warrington ended prematurely with a new injury. So I can't see boss Adrian Lam taking any chances.

The Dragons were wretched at Leeds last week but on the whole have been good at home, beating Warrington, Toulouse and champions Hull KR in their last three games at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.

For me that home form, and the hot weather and flat track, just gives the Dragons the edge. But this is genuinely a flip of a coin for me and the home side can look a little more brittle when Garcia is absent.

I'm siding with Catalans because of their formidable home form but not with as much confidence as I would like.

Both Teams to Score 3+ Tries Each @ 13/8

For my second selection this week I'm backing plenty of points between two teams who have been leaky but carry great attacking threat.

The Dragons have struggled to score on the road but have run in 13 tries in their last two games in Perpignan, while Leigh have scored nine across their last couple of games too.

Depending on who is back for the Leopards I feel that they have strike threat, and am confident that Catalans will score three-plus tries. As such, I'm looking at both teams to score three tries in this one, as was the case the last time the teams met in March. Catalans took the win at Leigh that day thanks to tries from Staines, Dodd and Wilson.
