NBA Betting Tips: Thunder and Knicks feature in Friday’s picks

Close but no cigar in regards to yesterday's tips, as the Los Angeles Lakers' defeat to the Phoenix Suns stopped a clean sweep.
Nevertheless, I'm back with more NBA betting tips as Friday night brings us a five-game slate to enjoy, and you can find my selections below.
NBA Betting Tips - Friday, February 27
- Detroit Pistons -7.5 (vs Cleveland Cavaliers) @ 1/1
- New York Knicks -6.5 (@ Milwaukee Bucks) @ 10/13
- Oklahoma City Thunder -8.5 (vs Denver Nuggets) @ 10/11
*odds correct at time of publication
Detroit Pistons -7.5 (vs Cleveland Cavaliers) @ 1/1
Two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference lock horns on Friday night as the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Detroit Pistons.
Cleveland are fourth in the conference and have won eight of their last 10 games, and the Pistons have the same record in that timeframe too, which sets up an absolute belter here.
Donovan Mitchell will miss the game for the Cavs which is a huge blow, and the newly-acquired James Harden is a game-time decision after injuring his thumb in the victory over the New York Knicks.
Therefore, a depleted Cleveland backcourt will struggle to contain Detroit's Cade Cunningham, and with so much firepower potentially missing for the Cavs, the Piston's elite defence should have no problem shutting down scoring opportunities.
In addition, this Pistons roster is deep and should have no issues with handling an injury-riddled Cavs team.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
New York Knicks -6.5 (@ Milwaukee Bucks) @ 10/13
The Knicks travel to fellow Eastern Conference outfit the Milwaukee Bucks here, who have won their past two games, showing glimpses of what they can produce. Perhaps more impressively, the Bucks are doing this without their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
New York suffered a significant loss to the Cavaliers last time out, and will be hoping to make amends on Friday night. The whole team shot poorly that night - 41% from the field and 27% from behind the three-point line.
However, the absence of Giannis is a big one for Milwaukee, as they don't have anyone who can deal with the size of NY's Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson with him out.
I'm backing Jalen Brunson to get this Knicks offence clicking again on Friday, and they should have too much for a Giannis-less Bucks team to handle.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Oklahoma City Thunder -8.5 (vs Denver Nuggets) @ 10/11
Potentially a Western Conference play-off match-up, the Oklahoma City Thunder host the Denver Nuggets on Friday night in what should be a cracker.
The Nuggets enjoyed a dominant win over the Boston Celtics recently, but they're expected to have a few players missing for this game, including Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray.
Despite Jalen Williams being injured for the Thunder, their roster is so strong from top to bottom and the likes of Chet Holmgren, Ajay Mitchell and Cason Williams are all capable of scoring and playing elite defence.
Nikola Jokic continues to play and MVP-calibre level for Denver but he can only do so much by himself, so the Thunder's strength-in-depth should see them cruise to victory at home.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
