Gloucester vs Toulon Prediction: French giants to dispatch struggling hosts

There is plenty to play for in Saturday's European Rugby Champions Cup Pool 2 clash at Kingsholm Stadium, where Gloucester take on Toulon.
A victory for fifth-placed Gloucester would see them overhaul third-placed Toulon, who know a win will be enough to secure a top-two finish and the home advantage that comes with it until a potential quarter-final in the knockout stages.

Gloucester are priced at 4/1 to pick up their second win of the pool that would see them progress, with the tie a 25/1 shot and Toulon the 2/11 favourites to grab the victory which would deliver a top-two finish.
Team news
Gloucester scrum-half Tomos Williams returns to captain the side after missing the defeat to Edinburgh, replacing Mike Austin who drops to the bench.
Dian Bleuler takes the place of Val Rapava Ruskin in the front row while Danny Eite is in for Freddie Thomas in the second row.
The fourth and final change is at blindside flanker, where Deian Gwynne drops out for Will Trenholm.
For Toulon, Brian Alainu'uese comes into the second row from the win over Munster, with Charles Ollivon moving to openside flanker in place of Esteban Abadie.
In the backs, Oliver Cowie is named at centre in favour of Jeremy Sinzelle, who drops to the bench.
Toulon -11 @ 8/11
Gloucester's issues have been clear to see this season, with just one win from nine Gallagher Prem matches leaving the club second-bottom of the table and just four points ahead of Newcastle Red Bulls.
The Cherry and Whites started off 2026 with a defeat to Newcastle - the Red Bulls' first victory of the campaign - and that was followed up with a 26-24 defeat to Edinburgh in the European Rugby Champions Cup.
It is now five defeats in a row for George Skivington's side, whose only victory in Pool 2 came in their opener against Castres, who sit bottom of the standings on five points.
Across those five losses, Gloucester have conceded 157 points at an average of 31.4 points per game and they may struggle to contain Toulon, who know a victory will guarantee them a top-two finish.
With home advantage secured until a possible quarter-final by finishing first or second in the pool, Toulon know how crucial a win at Kingsholm Stadium is and they are unlikely to fluff their lines.
Les Rouge et Noir have won three of their last five fixtures, beating group leaders Bath, Perpignan and Munster, and they have the attacking weapons to punish a fragile Gloucester defence.
Marius Domon crossed over in the win over Munster last weekend, as did winger Gael Drean, who has nine tries in 12 outings this season.
Also boasting the powerful front row of Jean-Baptiste Gros, Teddy Baubigny and Kyle Sinckler, Toulon have strength throughout their team and that extra quality should shine through.

Gael Drean anytime tryscorer @ 8/11
As mentioned, Toulon winger Gael Drean touched down in last weekend's victory over Munster to take his tally to the season to nine.
The 25-year-old Frenchman has crossed the whitewash in two of Toulon's three Pool 2 games, with his side going on to win both of those contests he has scored in.
Having failed to touch down in just three of his 12 appearances this term, Drean is bang in form and he can continue on his merry way at Gloucester's expense.
