Oscar Piastri will have been gutted at the outcome of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Not only did he only manage a fifth-place finish, but his teammate and main title rival Lando Norris took maximum points across the weekend to extend his lead at the top of the Drivers’ Championship.

So what chance does the Australian have now with three to go? Below you can find the Oscar Piastri F1 Odds.

"I think in terms of the championship, there's no point thinking about it very much," Piastri said after the Grand Prix in Brazil.

"There's clearly some things we need to sort out. Just a tough weekend from a number of fronts, so I'll focus on that instead."

That sounds like somebody who is ready to throw in the towel, but you have to consider those comments were made just after a major disappointment. He will know, in his heart of hearts, that there is still a decent chance that he can overhaul his teammate and finish as the world champion.

The gap (24 points) is larger than the one point that separated them before Sao Paulo, but still not so commanding that the title is Norris’. With just three races to go as we head to Las Vegas, there are 83 points to play for if you add in the one remaining Sprint race.

Unfortunately for Piastri, even if he wins all four remaining races it may not be enough for the title, as that would take him to 449 points - which is the absolute maximum he can achieve. If Norris finishes second in each of those races he will still win the title by two points. Ouch.

Piastri then needs to start winning races to put the pressure on his teammate and hope for a slip up. Just one race win combined with Norris finishing out of the top 10 would flip the script and give him back the championship lead, so you can see just how close the race for the Drivers’ Championship is this year.

Three races plus one Sprint doesn’t seem like a massive amount, but it only takes one DNF from Lando to blow this race wide open. We also have to consider whether Max Verstappen will be able to capitalise on any in-fighting between the two McLarens and take advantage - although that does seem unlikely at the stage.

In all honesty, given Lando is 1/8 he is clearly the most likely winner - but 7/1 on Piastri feels like excellent value given how quickly things could turn around. Las Vegas, the city of dreams, could make them a reality for Piastri. But it’s not in his hands any longer.
