Tennis Betting Tips: Swiatek to take out Tauson in Canadian Open last 16

Sunday's Tennis Betting Tips take us to Toronto and Montreal, where the Canadian Open is entering its final stages, with only four more quarter-final places up for grabs in both the men's and women's singles.
I've picked out a match from each, and you can check the two selections below.
Tennis Betting Tips - Sunday, August 3
- Game Handicap 3 - Iga Swiatek (POL) -6.5 vs Clara Tauson (DEN) @ 5/4
- Match Betting - Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP) to beat Andrey Rublev (Wrl) @ 8/11

Game Handicap 3 - Iga Swiatek (POL) -6.5 vs Clara Tauson (DEN) @ 5/4
I successfully backed Iga Swiatek with a -7.5 game handicap at 6/5 in her third-round victory over Eva Lys (6-2, 6-2) in Friday's Tennis Betting Tips, and on Sunday, I'm going for something similar, this time predicting the Pole to overcome a -6.5 handicap in her last-16 meeting with Clara Tauson.
Swiatek has now won 17 of her last 19 matches, dropping just 10 games across her most recent four, and has overcome a -6.5 handicap in eight of her last nine.
In Montreal, the 24-year-old takes on Tauson, who has beaten Lucia Bronzetti (6-1, 6-2) and Yuliia Starodubtseva (6-3, 6-0) with the minimum of fuss to reach the last 16.
Naturally, the Dane's confidence should be high, but a completely different test awaits her on Sunday, with Swiatek dominating the head-to-head.
The six-time Grand Slam winner has won all three of their previous matches, a couple of them in straight sets, and has overcome a -6.5 game handicap in the last two. At the Indian Wells Open in March 2022, Swiatek won 6-7, 6-2, 6-1, and at Wimbledon last month, she triumphed 6-4, 6-1.
Given Swiatek's form, I struggle to see Tauson living with her here, and another routine victory for the World No. 3 looks likely.

Match Betting - Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP) to beat Andrey Rublev (Wrl) @ 8/11
Andrey Rublev, winner of 17 ATP Tour singles titles, triumphed in his first five meetings with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, a four-time runner-up on tour who lost his latest final last week against Alex de Minaur at the Washington Open.
However, Davidovich Fokina won their latest match 7-5, 6-4 at the Barcelona Open in April, and arrives at this contest in better form. The Spaniard, alongside De Minaur, leads the ATP Tour in hard-court wins in 2025 and stands among the top five in total match wins this season with 34.
Rublev, meanwhile, has endured an underwhelming US Open Series so far, losing 2-1 to Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-3, 4-6, 4-6) in Los Cabos and suffering defeat to Learner Tien (5-7, 2-6) in his only match in Washington.
The Russian scored a convincing win over the struggling Hugo Gaston (6-2, 6-3) in his opening contest in Toronto, but was forced to come from a set down against Lorenzo Sonego (5-7, 6-4, 6-3) in the third round, and will have to raise his game significantly to knock out the in-form Davidovich Fokina on Sunday.
Rublev's career and head-to-head record would ordinarily see him enter this match as favourite, but the form of his opponent, coupled with his current instability on court, makes the Spaniard the likely winner here.
