World Darts Championship Wednesday Betting Tips
- Paolo Nebrida over 2.5 180s @ 11/10
- Madars Razma under 2.5 180s @ 1/2
1 unit boosted double @ 21/10 5/2
Paolo Nebrida over 2.5 180s @ 11/10
Paolo Nebrida is looking to make it third time lucky on the Ally Pally stage, having lost in deciding sets to Simon Whitlock and Danny Jansen in the previous two editions. He qualified comfortably this year through the Asian Tour Order of Merit, having picked up four titles this year and making two further finals.
He faces arguably his stiffest test yet against Jim Williams, who has reached the last 32 in his last two appearances here, progressing through his opening match on all three appearances. Jim definitely has a high level in him but consistency and nerves can be his downfall in my opinion. Perhaps a bit of laziness on Jim’s side in terms of practicing, I’ve heard a few times that getting him on the practice board can be a challenge. He’s also sat out a fair few events in the past when it didn’t make much sense to do so, so perhaps his mentality holds him back a bit.
I do think he’ll have too much for Nebrida though, his scoring and doubles stats are both better than that of Paolo and I fancy him to get the job done, but 1/4 is a tad on the skinny side and even -1.5 at 8/15 isn’t the most appealing. Instead I’m going to go for Nebrida to hit over 2.5 180s at a tasty 11/10.
The Filipino hit six 180s in his first round match against Whitlock last year and hit five 180s in his match against Danny Jansen the previous year. Averaging over one 180 per set in those matches, three doesn’t feel too big an ask here when we’ll have minimum three sets to play. With a lot of these Asian players, doubles is their achilles heel as opposed to the scoring.
In an otherwise tricky match to bet on, Nebrida to pin 3+ maximums looks the best option.

Madars Razma under 2.5 180s @ 1/2
In my opinion, this match could throw up absolutely anything to be honest. Razma is unpredictable at the best of times but he must fancy his chances here against Christian Kist, who has only won one match in five WC appearances. Kist has been playing mainly on the Challenge Tour this year, picking up three titles this year.
Due to other results so far, he’s already had it confirmed that he’s won his tour card back, so he can play with a sense of freedom here you’d think and view this tournament as somewhat of a free hit now. It’s fair to say Kist has had a career plagued by injuries, mainly arthritis that continuously causes him problems and makes his form a bit inconsistent, but on his day he’s a cracking player.
Razma has had a rather topsy-turvy year as he often does. A semi final on the European Tour in May was the highlight, defeating Dave Chisnall, Chris Dobey, Joe Cullen and Ryan Searle in a spectacular run of wins. He’s been alright, if not spectacular at the Worlds in the past - winning his opening round match on three of five occasions. He had his best Worlds run to date last year, reaching the last 32 after an impressive win over Mike De Decker when he came here as a seed.
Ultimately we have two players here who blow hot and cold, therefore makes it a tough game to call. A happy hunting ground for me normally when Razma is involved is betting on him to hit under a certain amount of 180s. Under 2.5 180s for Razmatazz looks as solid as ever - the Latvian is averaging just 0.13 180s per leg over the course of the year. He’s a lover or the treble 19 and has a tendency to start on that segment, ultimately eliminating any chance of him hitting maximums. That’s definitely the bet here and hopefully we don’t see 5+ sets.
