Wednesday is Day 10 of the US Open and there are two massive matches in the men’s and women’s singles, with semi-final places up for grabs.

The standout clash for British tennis fans sees Jack Draper looking to reach the last four, as he prepares to take on Australia’s Alex de Minaur, and that match features in my Tennis betting tips for Wednesday, September 4.

This has already been Jack Draper’s best performance at a Grand Slam and the Brit will feel he can go all the way in New York.

The 25th seed has had a pretty smooth route to the last eight, winning his first four matches without dropping a set.

Wednesday’s clash with Alex de Minaur is going to be his toughest test yet, particularly with the Aussie ranked 15 places above him in the world rankings.

Draper will have to also break his duck against his opponent, having lost the previous three meetings with the 10th seed.

All three have been tight tussles and the only meeting this year saw Draper retire hurt when one-set all in the semi-final of the Acapulco hard-court tournament.

It’s fair to say the British No.1 could have had a tougher run to the quarters, but his displays have clearly boosted confidence and belief going into this clash.

De Minaur has also had a favourable draw to this stage, dropping three sets en route to the quarter-final – against Marcos Giron in round one and then against Dan Evans and Jordan Thompson.

One thing that will also buoy Draper going into this encounter is that De Minaur has never made it past the quarter-finals stage of a Grand Slam.

His previous quarter-final appearances were at the 2020 US Open, the 2024 French Open, and this year’s Wimbledon – losing all three matches.

The power of the Brit’s serve should have an impact, with the lefty serving 35 aces in his four matches to date at Flushing Meadows.

Draper’s serve and power ground strokes will have to be on point, as De Minaur currently leads the ATP Tour stats on return-of-serve.

Set Betting - Karolina Muchova (CZE) to beat Beatriz Haddad Maia (BRA) 2-1 @ 13/5

It’s rare to see a player 31 places below her opponent such a favourite to win a Grand Slam match, but it’s understandable in this instance.

Karolina Muchova is the only unseeded player in the women’s quarter-finals, but is a former Grand Slam finalist and is yet to drop a set at the US Open.

She faces a player in Beatriz Haddad Maia who she has beaten in their three previous meetings, the last of which was last year.

Muchova defeated her Brazilian opponent in three sets (6-7, 6-1, 6-4) in Cincinnati, and Haddad Maia will feel she can run the Czech ace close again.

If Haddad Maia is to give herself a chance of making the last four, she will likely need to win the first set – which she is 13/8 to claim.
