Tennis Betting Tips: Three picks from Winston-Salem Open

We were close to landing a clean sweep yesterday, as two of my three tips landed - let's hope we can go one better today.

My tennis betting tips for Tuesday, August 20 focus on ATP Winston-Salem, as there is plenty of action taking place from North Carolina.

Set Betting - Nuno Borges to beat Thiago Seyboth Wild 2-0 @ 5/4

My first pick comes from the meeting between Nuno Borges and Thiago Seyboth Wild.

Borges has enjoyed a steady 2024 season, and currently sits in a career-high ranking of 35. Seyboth Wild won the only previous meeting between the pair, but Borges has claimed some big scalps this year, most notably beating Rafael Nadal in the final of the Swedish Open in July.

For Seyboth Wild, this is his first match on hard court this summer, and he has a rather dire 6-13 record on the surface, so I'm taking Borges here in straight sets.

Set Betting - Borna Coric to beat Sebastian Baez 2-1 @ 3/1

Next, my attention turns to the round of 32 clash between Borna Coric and Sebastian Baez.

Baez had a great run at the Winston-Salem Open last year, which helped him claim his first title on hard court. However, the Argentinian has a 5-6 win-loss record on the surface this year and has won consecutive matches on just one occasion.

His opponent, Coric, has had a terrible season up until this point, but played an excellent match against Sumit Nagal in the first round.

Baez holds the advantage in the head-to-head, winning both of their previous meetings which came during this time last year, but Coric will be out for revenge here, and I think he'll get it in three sets.

Set Betting - Christopher Eubanks to beat Hugo Gaston 2-1 @ 11/4

My final pick comes from the match-up between Christopher Eubanks and Hugo Gaston.

Eubanks hit 42 winners in his first-round victory over Adam Walton, despite dropping the opening set, and his serving was reminiscent of that which saw him thrive at last year's Wimbledon.

Gaston lost in the first round of qualifying in Cincinnati, and is struggling to find his serve at the moment, hitting only 45 per cent of his first serves in the straight-sets defeat to Jaume Munar.

If the number 14 seed wants to win this match, he'll need to significantly improve in that department against Eubanks, who I believe has the edge in this match.
