London’s latest attempt to win their first match of the Betfred Super League season come at home to a Salford side stung by a shock defeat at struggling Castleford last time out. (Kick-off 15:00 GMT)

The Red Devils have lost their last two away games since a stunning win at St Helens but will hope to get back to winning ways on the road against the top flight’s leakiest defence.

London Broncos vs Salford Red Devils Prediction

  • Handicap 3-way Salford Red Devils -30 @ 6/4
  • Marc Sneyd anytime tryscorer @ 5/2

Team news

Salford are forced to tinker with their squad after having had two weeks to stew on that defeat at Castleford, with the Challenge Cup taking centre stage last weekend.

Hooker Amir Bourouh serves a one-match suspension so the Red Devils may employ Chris Atkin or Joe Mellor at hooker.

Forward Sam Stone and winger David Nofoaluma are both unavailable, but on-loan prop Gil Dudson is back from injury while Kai Morgan is back in the squad after his loan spell at Rochdale.

London have Sadiq Adebiyi in their squad after a quad injury, while Ugo Tison goes straight into the mix after arriving on loan from Catalans Dragons.

Lee Kershaw, Jarred Bassett and Jordan Williams are named in the initial Broncos squad despite missing out last week against Hull KR.

Handicap 3-way Salford Red Devils -30 @ 6/4

Salford’s last two away performances have been baffling. Castleford were winless until that victory last time out, while the road trip before that was a 40-0 thumping at Hull KR. Either side of those of course there have been encouraging wins, at home to Leigh and that famous early March win at St Helens.

So Salford are a little unpredictable right now, despite coach Paul Rowley and scrum-half Marc Sneyd being named Player and Coach of the Month in the Betfred Super League.

London will feel they can get at Salford given those previous results, but ultimately that could prove their undoing given the Red Devils thrive on attacking in broken play.

So if the Broncos decide to go for this they could well get a hiding, and looking at the market I’m looking at around a 30-point away win for any sort of value. In fact that was exactly what happened when these two sides last met in 2019, when Salford won 58-28 in Ealing.

Salford Red Devils -30 at 6-4

Marc Sneyd anytime tryscorer @ 5/2

The Betfred Super League Player of the Month, Sneyd has thrived with the extra responsibility of leadership since the departure of Brodie Croft to Leeds.

The Red Devils’ general, this could be a match of bumper points for Sneyd, who is already Super League’s leading points scorer.

Most of them will come from the kicking tee, but at 5/2 I’d be looking to see him cross for a try too.

Marc Sneyd to score anytime at 5-2
