Today's Horse Races

15:55 - Hamish @ 5/6

One of my favourite horses in training.

The veteran eight-year-old Motivator gelding is in the form of his life, and is a great credit to trainer William Haggas and his team. Hamish took Newbury's John Porter narrowly in April, then ran a blinder in Epsom's Group 1 Coronation Cup, getting to within a length of Luxembourg.

Cut in the ground is right up his street, and for me he's got this G2 at his mercy. He comes out best on official figures and has won here before, albeit on the Rowley Mile course. He's a little cracker, and anything serving it up to him will know they've been in a battle.

16:10 - Miss Fascinator @ 2/1

Maiden fillies now, mere babies, and a selection that ran with great promise at this very track around a fortnight ago.

Miss Fascinator was beaten just half-a-length by Mandurah on what was her debut, and that winner could be headed to York's Group 2 Lowther at the Ebor meeting next month.

She's every right to improve for that run and holds Valentia Island on that recent spin. Roger Varian has booked James Doyle, and she has an outstanding opportunity in my book.

16:45 - Kitty Rose @ 11/4

Oisin Murphy renews his partnership with this three-year-old Invincible Army filly, after running a noble fifth in the 30-runner Sandringham at the Royal meeting.

Kitty Rose joined the training team of Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr in April from Miss Natalia Lupini in County Down, Northern Ireland. Ascot was the first outing for new connections, and it was an outstanding career-best effort.

Her Irish form was two wins and two seconds, and this looks an ideal opportunity to regain the winning thread. Once again, some juice in the ground will be no hindrance on what she's achieved so far.

17:20 - Twirling @ 4/1

My nap of the afternoon. Ryan Moore was on top last time in the Kensington Palace at Royal Ascot, and though it wasn't their day it's significant to me at least that the partnership is maintained here, under very different conditions.

Twirling could well have been inconvenienced by the fast ground three weeks ago, and kept on without ever really getting in to the contest. Previous form would put her bang there with every chance, and here's another who could well appreciate the slower ground.

Ascot was too bad to be true really, and this four-year-old Churchill filly could be a very different proposition on Thursday. Sire Churchill loved to get his toe in, and won the Dewhurst here as well as the 2000 Guineas.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £160 for your total £7.50 stake.
