There are meetings across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, including an evening offering from Kempton's Polytrack.

They have eight races at the Sunbury-on-Thames venue, with action unfolding from 17:05-20:45, and I've picked out a trio of Kempton tips for you to consider.

Kempton Tips

  • 17:40 - Kitty Furnival @ 5/4
  • 18:40 - Rosa Applause @ 7/4
  • 19:40 - Fougere @ 3/1

17:40 - Kitty Furnival @ 5/4

A Maiden Fillies' Stakes over 1m3f in which KITTY FURNIVAL is taken to make it third time lucky for the Simon & Ed Crisford operation.

The daughter of Zarak was a fair fourth at Goodwood (1m, good) in her sole outing as a two-year-old, with subsequent Listed winner Francophone ahead of her in second spot.

The promise shown there was improved upon at Leicester (1m2f, good to soft) in her reappearance last month.

She was just held by a promising newcomer from the William Haggas team at the line, beaten by a neck, but only after they had drawn right away from their six remaining rivals in what became a duel for the prize inside the final two furlongs.

An extra furlong now should pose no problems.

Incensed has shown ability and should figure at the business end for Andrew Balding, while newcomers Inlet (Sir Michael Stoute) and Zilfee (John & Thady Gosden) are respected, but Kitty Furnival looked a winner in waiting last time and can make good on that promise now on her all-weather bow.

18:40 - Rosa Applause @ 7/4

ROSA APPLAUSE is taken to account for in-form rivals Jimmy Speaking and Blue Day in this 6f handicap and hand the Crisfords and champion jockey William Buick what would be a quick-fire early double on the Kempton card.

Jimmy Speaking has won at Chelmsford and Ascot over 6f this season and his latest effort at Ascot was a good one, wearing down runner-up Mashadi in the dying embers despite hanging to his right, perhaps when looking for company.

Despite that promising form, Rosa Applause is preferred. The daughter of Blue Point has clearly inherited the family speed.

She was only third at Newcastle in a maiden on debut in November but is 2-2 since, scoring at Wolverhampton that same month and again at Lingfield in early May.

She made all under Harry Davies there and impressively kicked clear of another previous winner as they rounded the final bend.

She makes her handicap bow off a mark of 85 now, but it's likely she can rate a good bit higher than this before long and she can take out this Kempton contest en route to bigger things.

19:40 - Fougere @ 3/1

Dean Ivory will be confident that FOUGERE can notch a first career success when the Bated Breath filly lines up in the first division of this 1m3f handicap.

She does so after near misses at Leicester and Nottingham on turf in her last two starts. She bumped into one when second to Bletchley Storm in late April, coming off second-best by over seven lengths.

Next time at Nottingham (1m2f, good) she only narrowly failed behind improving three-year-old Clear Storm, no mean effort considering she was giving 6lb to William Haggas' filly as they drew clear of the field, with a couple of next-time-out winners behind.

She's rated 2lb higher now and has solid claims of going one better.
