Haydock Park Racecourse

There are eight scheduled meetings across Britain and Ireland this Saturday on a busy day of racing.

First off is Punchestown (jumps), followed by Beverley, Bangor-On-Dee (jumps), Navan and then Haydock's Premier Raceday on the Flat, before Catterick completes the afternoon line-up. The two evening meetings are from Chepstow and Lingfield.

Amongst our Saturday fancies is an improving six-year-old son of Dubawi representing an in-form Charlie Appleby in Group 3 company at Haydock.

Saturday Racing Tips - June 8

  • 13:50 Haydock - Live In The Dream @ 1/1
  • 14:05 Beverley - Maw Lam @ 9/2
  • 15:35 Haydock - Noble Dynasty @ 4/1

Horse Racing Odds

13:50 Haydock - Live In The Dream @ 1/1

LIVE IN THE DREAM is the clear percentage call in the Listed 5f Achilles Stakes at Haydock, as the most likely winner from the pick of the form on offer.

The five-year-old won the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York last August over 5f. He was only beaten about a length when fourth in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Sprint at Santa Anita in November over the same trip and his recent close second on soft ground over this course-and-distance in the Group 2 Temple Stakes was an encouraging return to action.

The return to a quicker surface should bring about a return to his best form, as when registering an RPR of 121 at York, and a reproduction of that level of form will suffice in this company.

Live In The Dream to win at 1-1

14:05 Beverley - Maw Lam @ 9/2

MAW LAM is the one to beat in the 15-runner £50,000 5f Hilary Needler Trophy Fillies' Conditions Stakes for juveniles at Beverley.

The daughter of Acclamation certainly has the right profile for success. Five of the nine winners of this race since 2013 had reached the first three on their only start, with three winning.

Maw Lam recovered from a modest beginning to win cosily on her debut over 5f on good to firm ground at Thirsk last month. She was awarded an RPR of 77 for that initial success, which sets the form standard in this field.

Paddy Mathers continues in the saddle on board Adrian Nicholls' representative. Nicholls has a 71% Run-To-Form figure in the past fortnight.

A low draw in stall one is another positive factor in the selection's favour and she is capable of following up, especially if taking a step forward from that debut success.

Betfred are paying 4 Places (1/5 Odds) instead of 3 on this race.

Maw Lam to win at 9-2

15:35 Haydock - Noble Dynasty @ 4/1

NOBLE DYNASTY is representing Charlie Appleby in the Group 3 7f John Of Gaunt Stakes at Haydock.

Appleby is 5-17 (29%) in the last 14 days and Pat Dobbs is 4-13 (31%. +£12.12) when in the saddle for the Newmarket handler.

Noble Dynasty is 4-6 over this 7f trip and 4-10 on good or good to firm ground and he appears more than ready for this first start in Group-race company in Britain, having left handicaps behind with a thoroughly convincing victory in a Class 2 7f Newmarket handicap off 105 last month.

He is the one to beat on the book with his revised official rating of 110. In fact, the six-year-old son of Dubawi was awarded a peak Racing Post Rating (RPR) of 117 for that Newmarket success and a reproduction of that level of form may suffice here.

Betfred are paying 4 Places (1/5 Odds) instead of 3 on this race.

Noble Dynasty to win at 4-1
