Venezuela are one of just two CONMEBOL member sides to have never lifted the Copa America trophy, but they have already managed to secure a spot in the quarter-finals of this year’s competition after winning both of their opening two games and will hoping to come away from Group B with a perfect record by beating Jamaica at the Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas in the early hours of Monday morning (01:00) here in the UK.

Can they manage to do just that? Here's my Jamaica vs Venezuela predictions.

Jamaica vs Venezuela Tips

  • Venezuela to win to nil @ 9/5
  • Salomon Rondon to score anytime @ 6/4

Jamaica vs Venezuela Odds

Venezuela are top of the pile in Group B and warm favourites for success in this encounter at 5/6, while Jamaica are 3/1 to claim their first ever Copa America victory.

The draw provides odds of 9/4, with a winner in the over 2.5 goals market paying out at 5/4.

Team News

West Ham striker Michail Antonio became the first ever Jamaican player to score at the Copa America in their 3-1 defeat to Ecuador last time out and is likely to start for Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men.

The likes of Michael Hector and Demarai Gray will both be hoping to feature from the off at the Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas after decent showings from the bench last time out. However, Luton’s Amari’i Bell and Philadelphia Union’s Andre Blake are both likely to miss out through injury.

Venezuela boss Fernando Batista could make wholesale changes to his starting line-up as he prepares for the knockout stages, with a bit-part players in contention to feature.

Cristian Casseres and Darwin Machis will both be hoping for more minutes after making strong cameo appearances in the win over Mexico, however captain Salomon Rondon should still keep his place up top.

Venezuela to win to nil @ 9/5

The Vinotinto have lost just three of their last 18 international fixtures, winning nine, and they should be able to continue this impressive form against a Jamaica side that has rarely impressed at the Copa America.

The Reggae Boyz have lost all eight of their previous matches in this tournament and could struggle to break through a backline that will have been buoyed by their clean sheet victory over Mexico - largely helped by a late penalty save from goalkeeper Rafael Romo to preserve the three points.

Venezuela to win to nil vs Jamaica at 9-5

Salomon Rondon to score anytime @ 6/4

Former West Brom, Newcastle and Everton striker Salomon Rondon is Venezuela’s all-time top goalscorer with 41 and the 34-year-old has continued to shine for his country in the United States.

Rondon has a goal and an assist over the course of his two appearances so far in this tournament and he looks a strong contender to find the back of the net against Jamaica - who have conceded the joint-third most number of goals at the Copa America this year ahead of Paraguay and Bolivia.

Salomon Rondon to score anytime in Jamaica vs Venezuela at 6-4
